SpeedGrids

Free browser games for F1 fans

Formula 1 games online

SpeedGrids is a collection of free Formula 1 trivia games you can play in your browser. Each puzzle is a 3×3 F1 grid where every answer must be a driver who satisfies both the row and the column clue — nine cells, nine guesses, no driver used twice.

Looking for an F1 immaculate grid?

SpeedGrids is an independent Formula 1 take on the 3×3 sports-trivia format often called an immaculate grid. You still solve nine row-and-column intersections in nine guesses, but every clue is built for racing: F1 constructors, drivers, circuits, seasons, wins, podiums, poles, championships, and Grand Prix history.

Read the F1 immaculate grid guide for examples, rules, rarity scoring, and all five daily modes.

What makes SpeedGrids different from other F1 games?

Most Formula 1 games are about driving. SpeedGrids is about knowing: it rewards fans who remember which drivers raced for which constructors, who won where, who took poles in which seasons, and who stood on the podium at the latest Grand Prix. A cell that crosses Podium for Williams with Race winner at Monza is easy to fill with a famous name — but the interesting answers are the ones almost nobody else thought of.

That is what the rarity score measures. When a grid ends, each correct cell shows the percentage of players who picked the same driver; lower means rarer. Sharing a 9/9 with a sub-5% rarity is the SpeedGrids flex.

What the clues cover

Grids draw on the full history of the world championship: constructors and their aliases (Alpine ↔ Renault, RB ↔ AlphaTauri ↔ Toro Rosso), individual seasons, circuits, career win, podium, pole, and start counts, world championships, nationalities, decades, and the season happening right now — including results from the most recent race.

Five ways to play

  • Daily Grid — the streak-building flagship puzzle across every era.
  • Latest Grand Prix — a grid built from the newest completed race weekend.
  • Current Season — today’s drivers, teams, points scorers, and race winners.
  • Constructors — team histories, aliases, wins, podiums, and driver line-ups.
  • Legends — champions, all-time records, and historic racing eras.

New to the format? The How to Play page covers the rules, streaks, and how clues are interpreted, and the Formula 1 trivia page goes deeper on the clue types.

Formula 1 games FAQ

Do I need to download anything to play?
No. SpeedGrids runs entirely in your web browser on desktop and mobile. There is nothing to install and no account is required.
How is SpeedGrids different from a racing game?
It is a knowledge game, not a driving game. Instead of reflexes, it tests what you know about F1 drivers, constructors, circuits, seasons, and results, in the style of a daily grid puzzle.
Can I play more than one puzzle a day?
Yes. Five modes publish a fresh grid every day, and every past grid stays playable in the archive. Only a perfect finish on today’s Daily Grid counts toward your streak.
Where does the F1 data come from?
Grids are built from F1DB, an openly licensed (CC BY 4.0) Formula 1 dataset covering drivers, teams, and results from 1950 to the current season, refreshed as the season runs.
